Shopping Trip

Since Gary is not home, you get to get the grocery savings talk. I hate grocery shopping. But, it had to be done. We were out of food, and so were the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon... Sorry, I had an ADD moment. Anyway, I went grocery shopping tonight, because Gabriel wouldn't let me not. For some reason, he wanted to eat. I didn't want to go, but I had a blast because I knew I was saving money. And, I love to save money. Here we go.

Walgreens:
Well, you gotta love this shopping trip. This all cost me $10.89. That Revlon Creme Gloss was $9.99. It has a full rebate this month. But, when the lady was ringing me up, she said, "I think this is on sale next week for buy 1, get 1 free. And, they've already changed it in the registers." So, I got another one. Plus, I'll get a $4 rebate for the cleaning supplies. So, after rebate, this trip to Walgreens made me $3.10, plus, I got some great stuff. I love it when this happens.

Kroger:

Well, I didn't make any money at Kroger. But, I saved a lot. The total for the above groceries was $110.33. According to my receipt, I saved $84.36.
I got 5 loaves of bread, 8 bags of bagels, 22 lbs of bananas, sloppy joe mix, banana smoothie mix (if anyone has a recipe, I'd love to have it!), Hefty freezer bags, three boxes of Lucky Charms, one box of Honey Nut Cheerios, 2 coffee cakes, 2 bags of Fritos, 4 half gallons of milk, 5 lbs of potatoes, 16 rolls of toilet paper (all free!), ready made bacon, sandwich meat, a roll of paper towels, 4 frozen pizzas, 2 boxes of Go-gurt, a jar of peanut butter, a package of hot dogs, refried beans, a package of hamburger buns, and 30 pounds of pork chops.
My total could have been less if I had been shopping regularly. So, I'm going to try to do better. Have a great week.
