I just followed your link from the homeschool military message group. Loved that video! My 6yo DD LOVES playing with numbers (which is what we call math). I love that we homeschool so that we can nurture that love and she never runs into a "Mr. Johnson."
Thanks for stopping by, Tina. Playing with numbers has done amazing things for my kids, especially once they started getting serious about math. Can I suggest logic games, things like checkers, chess, etc? They really get your brain thinking in a mathy way.
Also, I hope my younger kids never have a Mr. Johnson, either. My older son did, and it has been very hard to get him over that.
We are big fans of games around here. We love blockus, mancala, mastermind, and a bunch more. I wrote a post about it a while back, if your interested. http://mamaisemmasmama.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-we-learn-games.html
Funny you should mention checkers. I asked my DD what she would like to do next week and she mentioned learning how to play checkers. Sounds good to me!
